Family to Family Education Class

The NAMI Family-to-Family (FtF) Education Program is a free 12-week course for family members of individuals with severe brain disorder (mental illnesses).  The course is taught by trained family members.

The FtF curriculum focuses on Schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorder (Manic Depression), Clinical Depression, Panic Disorder, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Schizo-Affective Disorder and Borderline Personality Disorder.    The course discusses the clinical treatment of these illnesses and teaches the knowledge and skills that family members need to cope more effectively. These classes involve up to 25 family members and two specially trained family members who teach a consecutive 12-week educational program involving a two and one half-hour class taught weekly.

Family-to-Family classes are offered in hundreds of communities across the country and in two Canadian provinces. To find out more about the Family-to-Family program and class locations near you, browse through the categories on the menu bar above.
